How do I know if my child is ready for lessons? We recommend students between ages 3 to 5 try a trial lesson with one of our instructors. Before booking your lessons, some things to consider are: If they know their right/left hand, as well as reading the basic alphabet and numbers. Lastly, the most important factor is their ability to listen and follow instruction. Of course, every child learns and develops at their own pace so if you’d like more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
-
What should I prepare for the first lesson? For the first lesson, please prepare the following: An appropriate learning space for the keyboard (away from distractions: toys, tv, pets and siblings) A chair for both teacher and student (student may also sit on piano bench if you already own one) Pencil, eraser and pen Empty notebook for the teacher to write in weekly practice notes + suggestions. A well-maintained musical instrument (Piano, Cello, Guitar or Flute- depending on your instrument) *Keyboard rentals are available, check the rates for more information
-
Can I start lessons if I don’t own the instrument? For Piano, yes! You can most definitely start a lesson through our complete starter package. Our teacher can bring a basic keyboard and stand for the first lesson. Afterwards, you can choose to continue renting, OR we’d be happy to help you in your decision to purchase an instrument! For Guitar, Cello and Flute: it is important for the student to have their own instrument ready, we are happy to direct you to some stores where you can rent before you decide to buy.

How does billing work? All payments will be automatically billed to your credit card (to the one given after the confirmed registration) on a monthly basis on the 1st of each month. All invoices with payment breakdown will be sent out via email alongside the billing per month. For easiest accounting on both ends, the family will pay equal payments of the total number lessons across the number of months they are registering (September-June).
-
I Prefer lessons to not take place in my home, do you have a physical school location? In short, no, we are best known as a mobile music school. However, we do have teachers who offer lessons out of their personal home studio. Please inquire to see if there is a location near you!
-
What is your policy on canceled lessons and makeup classes?Lessons missed by the teacher will be rescheduled within the month. Lessons missed by the student for any reason will be forfeited. It is at the teacher’s discretion whether a make-up lesson can be provided. For consideration of makeup lessons, students must give a minimum of 48 hours notice.
-
What if my child is not interested in continuing music lessons? We understand that it may not always be the right fit! Two weeks written notice (2 lessons) is required to withdraw from lessons. The student may continue to take their lessons up until the final lesson date. Tuition for those 2 weeks will not be refunded.
